Bow & Stern Lockers For XS Rib Craft
As we make every part of the boat in house so any locker design, location, space or shape can be provided, here are some "standard" options. No locker in an open boat can be considered 100% waterproof, valuables should always be in dry bags within the locker. Lockers should be checked daily if they have electrical items in them and water sponged out.
FULL WIDTH REAR LOCKER
Available on all craft this will vary in size depending on the model of boat. There is the option to upgrade the standard
hatches to VETUS water proof ones.
Craft fitted with an A frame, smaller than the XS 750, are not wide enough to have an Aux Motor with a single main engine. You need The Aux Engine Rear Locker (Below) that allows the wider frame to be used.
AUXILLARY ENGINE REAR LOCKER
750-990 craft are wide enough to take an Auxillary motor straight on the transom with a single main motor install. 550 - 700 are not so this design of locker moves the A frame out on to the tube top to give more room for an Aux motor. This needs to be specified at build. This also gives the required freeboard on a single install if the boat is to be coded. The a frame and the Locker are priced seperately.
HATCH Types:
The hatches supplied as standard, grey, white and black solid plastic hatches shown in the images above are NOT FULLY waterproof.
If you require a locker to be MORE water proof, ie resist water entry when IMMERSED then an upgrade to Vetus type, metal framed hatches will be required. HOWEVER even then water will still get in to lockers and they need to be checked regularly and water may need to "sponged out"
