Ashby Powerboat School are accredited by the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) as a BSAC Seamanship Centre. Allowing them to teach BSAC Seamanship Skill Development Courses.

Ashby Powerboat School Founded in 2001 as a RYA Training Centre by Brian and Ashley Clough. With more than 40 years boating experience between them they
have been teaching RYA courses to powerboat users.

As Avid divers Brian and Ashley have enthusiastically been teaching RYA courses to BSAC members as well as leisure boaters the recognition by the BSAC is seen as a small but significant expansion.

“We are excited about the prospect of Teaching BSAC seamanship courses to divers, this has enabled us to double the type of training on offer and to reach out to the wider boating community” Says Brian.

“I believe this is a significant step forward for us and the BSAC. Bringing seamanship to more divers will add additional awareness of the sea and proficiency to there boating skills” Added Ashley.

The BSAC courses offered by Ashby Powerboat School include Boat Handling, Chart work & Position Fixing and Diver Cox’n assessments.

Solent Boat Training runs the full range of RYA training course with its fleet of ribs, motorboats, jet skis and yachts.

The RYA Powerboat courses run on MCA coded XS700 ribs powered by Mercury 200 engines meaning they are safe and powerful.
