Van kleins af aan was Tim al gefascineerd door water, en hij zette zijn eerste stappen in de watersport tijdens een Bloso-zeilkamp in Nieuwpoort. Die ervaring bracht hem in de wereld van het wedstrijdzeilen, eerst in de Spirou-klasse en later in de Europe-klasse. Tegelijkertijd groeide zijn interesse in technologie, wat hem uiteindelijk leidde naar een studie Industriële Wetenschappen en later Onderhoudstechnologie aan de AP Hogeschool in Antwerpen.

Tim zijn technische vaardigheden begonnen met het onderhouden van buitenboordmotoren en groeiden uit tot een grondige kennis van motortechnologie en de regelgeving in de nautische, telecom- en mobiliteitssectoren. Als liefhebber van oldtimertractoren deed hij ook expertise op in verbrandingsmotoren en carrosseriewerk.

BoBat is ontstaan uit Tim zijn passie voor watersport en technologie.

Naarmate BoBat groeide, werd het duidelijk dat Tim het niet langer alleen kon beheren. Gelukkig deelde Silke zijn interesse in watersport, dus was er weinig twijfel om haar voltijds in het bedrijf op te nemen. Silke draagt nu bij door onderhoudswerken uit te voeren, rompen te behandelen en tubes te herstellen in hun werkplaats. Ze is ook het eerste aanspreekpunt op kantoor, zowel telefonisch als via e-mail. Daarnaast krijgen ze in de werkplaats steun van Tim zijn vader, Geert De Rick, en een vaste technieker. Samen zorgen ze voor het onderhoud van motoren, evenals voor elektrische, mechanische en rompgerelateerde werken.

In hun vrije tijd zijn Tim en Silke actief als vrijwilligers bij het Race & Rescue-team, waar ze helpen bij de ondersteuning van watersportevenementen op zowel binnenwateren als op zee.

Elke dag streven ze ernaar een betrouwbare en kwalitatieve service te bieden, waardoor BoBat ondertussen een gevestigde waarde is geworden in de sector.

Ondertussen heeft BoBat al een mooi portfolio opgebouwd. We hebben de eer gehad om boten te mogen leveren aan belangrijke spelers zoals Port of Antwerp-Bruges, de brandweerdiensten, de Royal Yacht Club van België, de Belgische redders op zee, en heel wat nationale en internationale zeilclubs en coaches.

From a young age, Tim was fascinated by water, and he took his first steps in watersports during a Bloso sailing camp in Nieuwpoort. That experience introduced him to the world of competitive sailing, first in the Spirou class and later in the Europe class. At the same time, his interest in technology grew, ultimately leading him to study Industrial Sciences and later Maintenance Technology at AP University College in Antwerp.

Tim's technical skills began with maintaining outboard motors and evolved into an in-depth knowledge of engine technology and regulations in the nautical, telecom, and mobility sectors. As a classic tractor enthusiast, he also gained expertise in combustion engines and bodywork.

BoBat was born out of Tim's passion for watersports and technology.

As BoBat grew, it became clear that Tim could no longer manage it alone. Fortunately, Silke shared his interest in watersports, so there was little hesitation in welcoming her full-time into the business. Silke now contributes by performing maintenance tasks, treating hulls, and repairing tubes in their workshop. She also serves as the primary point of contact in the office, both by phone and email. Additionally, they are supported in the workshop by Tim's father, Geert De Rick, and a permanent technician. They are responsible for engine maintenance as well as electrical, mechanical, and hull-related tasks.

In their free time, Tim and Silke are active volunteers with the Race & Rescue team, where they help support watersport events on both inland waters and at sea.

Every day, they strive to provide reliable and high-quality service, which has made BoBat a well-established name in the industry.

In the meantime, BoBat has built an impressive portfolio. We have had the honor of delivering boats to key players such as the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, fire services, the Royal Yacht Club of Belgium, the Belgian Lifeguards at Sea, as well as numerous national and international sailing clubs and coaches.

BoBat est né de la passion de Tim pour les sports nautiques et la technologie.

Heureusement, Silke partageait son intérêt pour les sports nautiques, et c'est donc sans hésitation qu'elle a été intégrée à plein temps dans l'entreprise. Silke contribue aujourd'hui en effectuant des travaux d'entretien, en traitant les coques et en réparant les boudins dans leur atelier. Elle est également le premier point de contact au bureau, que ce soit par téléphone ou par e-mail. De plus, ils sont soutenus dans l'atelier par le père de Tim, Geert De Rick, et un technicien permanent. Ensemble, ils s'occupent de l'entretien des moteurs ainsi que des travaux électriques, mécaniques et sur les coques.

Dans leur temps libre, Tim et Silke sont bénévoles au sein de l'équipe Race & Rescue, où ils apportent leur soutien à des événements nautiques sur les eaux intérieures et en mer.

Chaque jour, ils s'efforcent de fournir un service fiable et de haute qualité, ce qui a fait de BoBat une référence incontournable dans le secteur.

Entre-temps, BoBat s'est constitué un beau portfolio.
